To the residents of Middlesex County,
I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Joe Ready for the Northern Middlesex Register of Deeds position. Having worked closely with Joe as the Assistant Director for Recruiting and Operations at Harvard Law School, I can confidently attest to his exceptional qualities and qualifications.
For 23 years as the Assistant Dean for Career Services at Harvard Law School, I was responsible for hiring numerous staff members. Joe Ready is one of the finest professionals I have ever hired. Joe demonstrated unparalleled dedication, outstanding judgment, and a keen intellect and creativity in his role.
As the overseer of the administrative staff and the orchestrator of the largest on-campus interview program in the world, Joe managed over 12,000 interviews in a single week. His remarkable creativity, superb work ethic, exceptional character, and ability to efficiently handle the day-to-day operations significantly contributed to the office's success. Joe would put these same skills to use as the next Northern Middlesex Register of Deeds.
Beyond his professional capabilities, Joe is a pleasure to work with. His positive attitude, collaborative workstyle, and ability to navigate challenges gracefully make him an ideal candidate for any leadership position. I have no doubt that Joe Ready represents the epitome of excellence and would be a tremendous asset in serving the residents of Middlesex County.

Dear Northern Middlesex Residents,
I am thrilled to endorse Joe Ready for the position of Register of Deeds. As a Massachusetts State Senator and an attorney by profession who has specialized in real estate conveyancing, I understand the critical expertise, vision, and management experience required for this vital role. I have no doubt that Joe is uniquely qualified to build upon the exceptional work of Richard Howe, Jr., and to further enhance the Northern Middlesex Registry of Deeds for the benefit of our community.
Joe’s commitment to safeguarding residents against fraud, combined with his keen understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by advancements in AI technology, makes him an outstanding candidate. His dedication to making the registry more accessible and improving language accessibility for all users is particularly noteworthy and demonstrates his commitment to serving our diverse community.
With a deep understanding of real estate and land documents, as well as Massachusetts General Laws, Joe is well-equipped to run the day-to-day operations of the registry. His proven ability to collaborate with legislators and stakeholders at all levels, along with his work on the Chelmsford Master Plan and Economic Development committees, provides him with the knowledge and skills needed to propose and secure funding based on merit through well-developed and compelling written proposals. Joe’s innovative and collaborative mindset has consistently led to successful outcomes, and I am confident that he will work effectively with the Secretary of State to achieve the goals and objectives of the Northern Middlesex Registry of Deeds.
In the event that additional funding sources are required beyond the existing technology fund, Joe will proactively seek collaborative opportunities with the other 21 registers across the state to first identify potential savings and synergies. Should further funding be necessary for registry operations, Joe’s expertise in data-driven budgeting, developing comprehensive plans, and articulating the merits of those plans will be invaluable in securing funding equitably through the proper channels and protocols. His strategic vision and creativity will resonate with state decision-makers, paving the way for additional funding opportunities.
Joe's experience at Suffolk Law School in the Registrars and Admissions Office, combined with his role at Harvard Law School's Career Services Office and his successful establishment of a real estate brokerage, has equipped him with the strong foundation necessary to effectively lead and manage the registry.
His vision for a more accessible, responsive, and secure registry is clearly articulated on his website, demonstrating not only his capacity for generating innovative ideas but also his ability to execute them successfully. I am confident that Joe will bring the same creativity and efficiency to the Register of Deeds position that he has consistently exhibited throughout his career.
I invite you to join me in supporting Joe Ready's candidacy for Register of Deeds. I believe Joe will be an outstanding leader, driving significant advancements for our community as your next Register of Deeds.
Sincerely,
Barry Finegold

I am writing to enthusiastically support Joe Ready in his bid for the Northern Middlesex Register of Deeds position. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Joe on two separate occasions and calling him a close friend for many years since. What I would want voters to know about Joe is that he is bright, hard-working, and fair. He is a creative problem solver who has a long history of giving significantly more of himself to his friends, family and community than he ever asks for in return.
Joe and I worked together early in our careers at Suffolk Law School’s Office of Admissions. While putting himself through college, Joe proactively spearheaded our department’s transition from paper applications to digital records. At that point in time, which was the early stages of the digital age, it was absolutely the right move. Joe saw the opportunity and eagerly moved the department in that direction. Later in our careers, I succeeded Joe as the Assistant Director for Recruitment & Operations at Harvard Law School. It was a demanding job that required the successful employee to wear many hats. Joe was able to do so with aplomb. Two things, in particular, stood out to me in succeeding him. First, the work he left behind was meticulous, strategic, and easy to continue as his successor. He ran a very tight ship. Second, he gave of himself. When I was a few months into the position and managing the most important program of the year, which consisted of 10,000+ interviews for highly qualified law students with the most prestigious law firms in the country, Joe was there. Although he had finished his service at Harvard a few months prior, Joe was more than willing to serve as a resource on day one of the program to ensure success. My success. The students. Harvard Law. He took great pride in what he built and wanted to lend a hand where he could. That he showed up on that day was just one more example of the kind of person he is.
While I worked with Joe in the context of higher education, it was always clear that his passion was in real estate. When he launched and grew an extremely successful real estate agency, I was not surprised in the least. He has the skills that make a great leader and co-worker. He works hard, he works smart, he leads by example, and his character is beyond reproach. As has been the case with every position he has held previously, I am confident that the Northern Middlesex Register of Deeds department would benefit greatly from his experience and leadership.
Sincerely,
Mark Kleinschnittger

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We, Vicki Tsongas Peters and Jim Peters, are proud to officially endorse Joe Ready for the position of Register of Deeds. Vicky is the sister of the late Us Senator, Paul Tsongas and I have been an active member of the Lowell community serving as a volunteer host on LTC, teaching in our public schools and writing the history of Lowell.
Joe's deep understanding of the historical significance of the registry database, combined with his unwavering commitment to our community, makes him an outstanding candidate for this critical role.
Joe has demonstrated his dedication through his volunteer work, particularly with public access television, and his family's long-standing commitment to the Lowell area. Their history in our community is a testament to the values Joe embodies: service, integrity, and a strong sense of community.
With over 15 years of management and leadership experience, Joe is well-prepared to guide the registry through the transition following Richard Howe Jr’s retirement. His vision for modernizing registry operations, enhancing website technology, and safeguarding the public against fraud will greatly benefit Lowell and our surrounding areas.
As a proud descendant of Irish immigrants, Joe has always held Lowell close to his heart. His connection to our city runs deep, and we are confident he will be an active and engaged member of our community.

Dear Residents of Middlesex North,
We are writing to strongly endorse Joe Ready of Chelmsford for Register of Deeds. Dick Howe Jr., the longtime Register is not running again after serving for 30 years. Dick did a wonderful job, bringing the Registry online so anyone could access records from home. Dick was a lawyer with strong community involvement.
Joe Ready will pick up where Dick left off. He has a degree in Business Management from Suffolk University Sawyer School of Management in Entrepreneurship. He is the former owner of Ready Real Estate in Chelmsford from 2010 to 2023.
Joe has a strong managerial background having worked at the Registrar’s and Admission’s Office of Suffolk Law School and managed staff at Harvard Law School’s Career Services Office as well as starting and managing his own real estate firm. Joe notes, as a ‘super user’ of the Registry in his real estate work, he is extremely familiar with all of the documents and the importance of being able to maintain land records with precision.
Joe has an in-depth vision for the Registry which he highlights on his website, VoteJoeReady.com; but in short, he will work to enhance technology, implement systems to help prevent fraud & scams to protect homeowner’s investments, clean up historical data and provide more education to the public about the registry.
Joe, who is married with four children, has been a long-term active member of the community. Joe served on Chelmsford’s Master Plan & Economic Development Committee. His service also includes being an elected Chelmsford Town Meeting Representative, a Town Talk Board Administrator and a volunteer CYBL basketball coach, among many other things.
We strongly endorse Joe for Register of Deeds in the upcoming September 3 Primary as well as the November 5 election.
The Lowell City Committee does not endorse candidates in contested Democratic elections, but as individuals we can sign. We do not speak for our wards but for ourselves.
